M Performance Style Carbon Splitters on Ebay?
Out of curiousity I searched on Ebay for OEM carbon splitters and found a replica of them from a China manufacturer also in carbon. Auction pics looked legit and the product appears high quality. I asked a friend in Asia what he thought of them and he said that once on the car, they look as good as factory. Since the splitters are mainly cosmetic (re: I don't go fast enough to notice a difference) I am not too concerned if its 100% carbon fiber and resin or a wrap of a fiberglass core and resin. At least, on the surface, the finish appears authentic. The price difference is certainly staggering. Anyone else tried these ones? My OEM splitters recently got cracked from going up a steep driveway, so I didn't want to spend another $700 on something that will likely get broken again. I went with the ones linked to below, and the quality is fantastic for the price. Fitment is 100%, which I was shocked to see. I was expecting some flaws in the fitment, but there are none to be found. Quality is about 95%, with some distortions in the weave on the underside, but you'll never see that part of the splitter so it doesn't matter.
They're a tremendous value. I've been adamant in the past about not buying replicas, but on a part that is going to likely get scratched/cracked over time, I had to go with the replicas. Also, shipping was extremely fast from this vendor considering it's coming from China. Took 2 business days to get to SoCal. http://www.ebay.com/itm/150526759550 |

it that the angle/a shadow, or does the passenger side splitter not contact the bumper on the inner/middle side?

After looking at my pics there is distortion on the top of the China splitter. In person it is hardly noticeable, you'd have to look at it up close to see any irregularity. |

Thanks for the response to my thread. The pics are very helpful in judging quality especially when u have the factory one on one side. I think if you had both on I probably wouldn't have noticed. I suppose if I was to get it I would buy a betalink kit and mount like the factory one and it would fit closer. I can see where it doesn't quite line up but like you said its probably cause of the tape. Did the double sided tape come with the part? From a quality standpoint, the factory one has a lot more visual continuity with the lines of the car as the pattern runs front to back rather than some arbitrary angle. Does the right side one go the opposite direction so both sides at least look mirrored?

I've been through about 5 sets of clubsport splitters on my E46...I usually like sticking ith OEM but this part would be the exception.

I'd be more inclined to use Betalink, but let's say you crack/break/curb a splitter attached with Betalink. Wouldn't it be much hard to remove when (if) you need to replace it?

I would assume so - never had to remove something before. That's why I taped mine.
