BMW Apps & Pandora

I have really enjoyed using Pandora with my Iphone 4 in my M3 when I am note listning to the engine, but now with the new Iphone 5.0 software uopdate, my pandora is not working. It trys to connect to the BMW, but then says to check to make sure that my Pandora is the latest version. Help! Any ideas would be appreciatted. I called BMWUSA CS & they suggested I turn off my bluetooth briefly. Obviously didn't help. I have reloaded Pandora without success. Thanks.

Pandora does not work with iOS5 and BMW Apps... expect an update soon.

BMW Apps/Pandora has been broken since iOS5 beta.

This will likely be an update from Pandora. In the meantime, try using Pandora through Bluetooth streaming. I know it's not ideal but now that iOS 5 includes AVRCP 1.3 you can actually see song metadata, so it's much nicer. However, I'm not sure Pandora supports metadata transmission over Bluetooth since I haven't tested it since updating to iOS 5. The bummer is you can't plug your phone in to charge that way (since that kills Bluetooth audio), but at least you'll have music.

It does not, but the steering wheel forward button works.

Thanks - I couldn't figure out why my BT audio wasn't working.

FYI: BMW Apps with my iPhone 4S on iOS5 works fine with the web radio app. I did not test it with Pandora. Also, normal iPod navigation via the idrive works fine as well. I also have it plugged into the iPhone 4 media adapter.

i had that message also, close out the pandora app in the task bar section of the phone, keep doing it till iit works, took me about 3 times

Slightly off topic but how do you get Pandora to work in BMW Connected? I see web radio, Twitter, Facebook, Last Mile, and Calendar but no Pandora.

Yeah, iOS5 has screwed up many of my apps as well. I used V1 Golf for all my golf lessons and it's @$%@#$ up!!! I wish I hadn't upgraded. I'm sure other apps has been jacked up as well.

Start Pandora and plug iPhone. In that order.

I think you have the order reversed - in order to connect the pandora & the bmw. the phone has to already be connected by the iphone cradle.

While changing topics - I tried taking my phone out of the cradle & using BT audio, but it styill does not work. What am I doing wrong. I have BT audio checked on the car. Thanks.

The iPhone cradle is not required for BMW Apps, much less for Pandora. It is only required for iPod Out.

Start Pandora and then plug iPhone... once Pandora is fixed in iOS5.

It doesn't matter what order you do this in. You can open Pandora before or after you connect it to USB or the cradle, makes zero difference at least in my car.

That's because every time you plug your phone into the cradle or USB port while Bluetooth is enabled, BT audio is disabled and it does not get re-enabled when you disconnect it. You should get an alert on the iDrive screen about this when you connect it. You just need to disconnect the phone, go into the options for your Bluetooth phone, and select the Audio checkbox again.

Anyone try MOG instead of Pandora? It's suppose to be supported now.
I never saw the appeal of Pandora. MOG lets you pick what ever songs you want in your play list.

You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
