SC was having issues before the filter was removed for diagnosing. car always ran with a filter ON for 1000s of miles until it started having MAJOR boost issues and only hitting 2psi at redline. I think its clear that after the filter was removed the SC sustained further damage by sucking something up. Hope that clears things up for you.

It seems to me that the SC wasn't installed right in the first place and you were reluctant to follow the good advice on how to fix the problem instead relied on your local guys. You had a boost leak to begin with that your guys overlooked.
Nobody wants to take responsability for their actions anymore.if you had a lil integrity you would've apologized to ESS for tryin to portray their support as poor.

funny fact for you: if the kit wasnt isntalled properly how is this currently the fastest and the only 6spd E92 in 11s ?? record has been standing for 7 months now.

AJ@ESS support was as good as it can get over email.

actually it isnt......zim trapped 121 and beat that record a long time ago spinning halfway down the track nonetheless...this car barely broke 11's@119 (IIRC) with the car WITH slicks and meth, not really something to brag about but sure

wow full of misinformation.

1) no meth was used for this run, 93 octane
2) it was the first 6spd E92 M3 to go 11s
3) it still is the only 6spd to go 11s. Zim ran 12.2 spinning at 12x mph
4) car was on stock size drag radials not slicks (not sure if you know the difference)

Yes he has the mph record because he SPUN but the E.T is untouched. It makes sense since his car is a 625 or 650 car and made more power. if i wanted to MPH over E.T i woulda ran stock tires and did the same 120+ mph lol

His traps also ranged from 117 to 121 during track day. so my 119 falls right up there

yes i do know the difference drag radials or slicks, same shit in this regard...the car is a torqueless monster it doesnt need slicks to get off the line fast...spinning vs ET is a subjective topic.....some people think spinning wont effect ET (which i can argue for) but others think getting better traction will help ET (which is what I've personally experienced when I went to the track with Zim)....his trap shot up from 117 to 121 with better traction due to changing his M mode suspension settings from dynamic to comfort and spinning less...his car is faster while your buddys M3 has a quicker ET due to traction

thats fine. Zims car should be faster because he has a higher power setup (625 or 650i dont know for sure) and constant tune revisions from ESS, while my friends car was one of the oldest ESS600 cars out there. plus we also didnt do a track day, i did like 3 passes in it. i found that stiff suspension mode worked better and eliminated wheel hop for me.

as far as trap and et goes, it definetly not a direct correlation and really depends on the run. i have seen it go both ways, logic for both sides makes sense. car should be done this weekend and then it will see atco again to break my own E.T record

Spining briefly in first won't effect ET's Spining in 1st 2nd & 3rd will hurt your ET 's big time as that was my case , I was running 625 file and only tested the 650 file never had the actual full kit as u need to run 8psi for 650 , I just tested the software at 7psi that's all .... You need 8 psi to see power Gain ..

Running 11's doesn't necessarily mean that the SC was properly installed.

you can go back and forth with me all day on this but this car ran very well for over a year. performed very well on and off the track. more importantly had zero issues and over a year later returned perfect compression test and leak down tests.

as far as it being few mph down from Zims car, one - his car had a higher rated power kit on it, two - he ran at a track rental where he could try different things all day and probably did 12+ passes. i did 3 passes on this car - and its not my car. i am an average driver with pretty much no experience running an M3 down the track. zim drives/races his all the time where he should be faster then me (ofcourse given we run same tires). understand my point? things arent always black or white, there are alot of variables that go into a good track time.

Zim - spinning anywhere will hurt your ETs. Spinning in 1st will hurt it the most. Launch and first 300 feet are the most important part of a drag race. One tenth that you lose on the 60 foot will translate into two tenths lost on your ultimate 1/4 ET.

when we went it was both mine and zims first time running at the track, and we only got 4-5 passes in lol...check out what a nasty launch he had in this video (and you can still hear him spinning up until third) and still trapped over 120:

ever tried running on a treadmill in timberland boots? need running shoes right???

either way this car is up and running. it already made a little bit more power then before, boost issues are fixed. may be getting a tune update from ESS.

yeah - otherwise its just very frustrating. and not everyone is into 1/4 miles, but good tires are important even if they are not DRs. whats the point of having 500whp if you cant put it to the ground till 80-90mph....
