M3 is actually pretty good with wheelspin...has no low/mid range torque....its kind of hard to get the wheels spinning from a 40 roll.......you can manage traction with a blower, just get a good set of tires

I really have to call BS on wheel spin over 70 from a stock M3. Maybe you have bald over-inflated tires and you're revving up the engine and dumping the clutch?

Not entirely unbeliveable in 40* temperatures with UHP summer tires.

Just yesterday, 65 degrees on my way home. Im at a stoplight, X5 pulls up next to me. Light turns green and he decides that hes going to beat me to the 2-1 merge. As I catch this I'm at 20mph, so I punch it. Im not gaining any speed as the tach flashes, wheels spin, and DSC kicks in. This happens to me often on a 20mph roll. 1-2 shift at WOT spins but i can manage its, just slows me down.

Ive been running PS2's, and I dont see why they would give me and sort of a traction disadvantage. I think DCT manages traction better, or so it appears to me. Funny you mention a roll from 40. I see a lot of vids with supercharged M3's racing other cars from a second gear roll, and a lot of the time the M3 gets a bad start and you see "M3 lost traction" texting across the screen.

Mine makes 502 at the wheels and I don't have any trouble hooking up with 265 RE11's once they are warm.

I think there is a bit of misunderstanding here. No, Im not breaking the tires loose above 70mph. Im saying its not too hard to break the tires loose when the temp outside above 70 degrees, where as when its cooler outside, like in the 60's, I feel they spin too easily.

if anything, I would trust more higher HP mods to a 6MT than for a DCT

I have a 6MT 533whp E92 M3..
The supercharger was THE best mod I ever did.

I'm actually thinking of selling/trading my M3 for a DCT M3... If you find anybody looking to switch from a DCT to 6MT please let me know.

The only time I've had scary traction issues is in cold-ish weather (50's and/or moist). I actually look forward to it because it is fun to slide the car around ; )

The only difference would be that you will have 2 hands on the wheel when shifting with the DCT rather than 1 on the MT

Turn DSC off and a little wheelspin won't slow you down nearly as much. Tires generate their best longitudinal grip when they're slipping slightly

I too found spinning the wheels under power hard to do in a straight line. I now have approx 460bhp and still have massive grip and drive even when it's cold and wet.

There was a chap on m3cutters who is on his 2nd M3. First car had terrible issues with traction but 2nd one is very good as expected. Both had the same tyres and pressures.

For folks with traction issues, I reckon either the geometry is amiss, the diff is faulty or some other suspension problem.
