I wonder where cops get these cars from. I hope it's not at the taxpayers expense. Hopefully they get such cars from confiscations or seizures.

Makes total sense now as to why I've been getting more front plate tickets than I ever have.

I want someone to explain to me how they justified the purchase of this vehicle, what it's main use will be for and how the taxpayers are really benefiting from it.

Did you even read the article?

Secondly, VA Police Departments are known to have some sportier cars in their inventories, such as cameros, mustang GTs, etc.

Um...yeah. Duh..

edit:

it may just be that the shop is advertising what it does for police cars, and in this case, this particular police department which is "unnamed"

I'm usually one to avoid knee jerk reactions because often times things are not as they seem... but I'm at a loss for this one and I totally agree. If this was a standard procurement I don't see how this could ever by justified by any state or federal agency. There simply isn't any need. Standard patrol cars are plenty fast and in an era where police are reassessing their high speed chase policies it just makes no sense.

My hope is that this is sort of like the character Mike Lowry from the "Bad Boys" movie, where a rich guy with a trust fund becomes a cop, and decides that the basic squad car isn't enough for him. Or maybe its just some BS from the shop itself trying to drum up some free advertising. The latter seems more plausible.

Either way, I'd probably be more likely be ogling a GTR if I see one than passing it, so don't have to worry about a ticket. And man, imagine driving that sucker around and getting paid for it...

...and imagine Paul Walker driving it too. GT-R...wtf for. Really now. I mean, what on earth are folks using on the streets that require a GT-R to pursue you...seriously though. How many high speed chases do they do anyways.
