While the sound is one of my favorite features of my car, the main feature that attracted me to the car in the first place was that it was a true jack of all trades. As long as the F80 can be that as well, it's going to do just fine, and I see no reason why it would fail.

It's funny to hear the screams (no pun intended) over the engine's note, when we know that we will all be complaining about the car's weight if it comes in heavier than the current, and about the price if it's even marginally higher than the great deals we're getting now towards the end of the current gen's cycle.

That's not true. BMW doesn't use the Active Sound Design to change the engine sound but to pipe the (original) engine sound into the interior.

i hope your right. outperform to me is a half second faster to at least 3.9 seconds to 60 and a nurburgring of 749 or better

I like the sound...can't really judge anything else. The E46 and E9X M3 has had one glaring weakness...fuel economy. Hopefully the F80 addresses that. Other than that, M3 has beaten the pants off of the competition in most respects.

Honestly, I like the idea of the next M3 being a V6...something different. Why buy the same car again? The essence of the M has evolved over the years. Let's hope it continues to evolve.

I hope the next 3 series improves the interior quality. The E9X just doesn't have the feel of quality and top notch fitment that the E46 had.

Indeed. Much more important than power to me . So don't care if the new M3 has 700 HP; I don't need any more than the S65. Looks like my next car will be the next gen. Cayman S or C7 Vette.
I completely agree. Have you seen the new boxster spy photos? IMHO it looks phenomenal with some cues from the CGT. Next-gen Cayman S, 991CS, and 991GT3 will be among the most likely candidates for my next car as well
