Sunroof question

Was just checking about the sunroof on MY11 I noticed it didn't retract all the way. Theres about 2 inchs that stick out. Just wondering if that's normal. I dont remember it looking like that on MY08.

My 2011.75 works the same way, just checked. I doubt it's a defect. I suppose BMW might have changed the sunroof on certain models or after a certain model year, but if you're that worried just go to a dealership and play with some of the new cars on the lot.

You're probably right. Maybe the sunroof on the coupe can't open as far because the roof starts sloping earlier, whereas the sedan's roof remains flat for a good length.

Mine is a coupe, not flushed, but works fine... Doesn't bother me

Mine is open approximately 2 inches as well. I cannot remember if my 328i coupe was the same but I swear the moonroof is larger on this M3 than the 328i. I know this can't be true but the opening looks bigger.

Cool I won't worry about it then. But I could swear MY08 went flush with the roof.

It's flush when viewed from the outside of the car when fully open, so you can't see any of the glass panel? Can you post a pic of this?

^^ That's exactly what mine looks like. I'd be curious to see a sedan, and especially M3Maniac's allegedly flush coupe.
