I'm going with Evolve. It was between them and ESS, but I couldn't justify the extra $500 ESS charges for the Akra specific tune, whereas Evolve doesn't charge any extra for their Akra specific tune. Both companies are outstanding and offer great products/service, but money isn't cheap.

I hope that is not what they are going to charge me for an update, I already paid $1000 for this tune and I dont expect to pay for this update, I will let you know later today what they say

Nah, I seriously doubt that, the folks at ESS are pretty good about that stuff. I think they give free updates for a certain number of times, or may just charge the difference between the two tunes. Then again, I'm not them. Let us know.

You were right, got the confirmation from ESS, they charge $500 for the updated tune for tha akra, I am going to stay with my DF tune as it is, I bought it with the CEL delete option and I dont feel any dip below 2000 rpms, no need to spend additional $500!

i would be interesting to see a dyno with the different tunes on the same car, I ran my car for about 3 days with out the tune and low end drop was very noticeable.

With the ESS Akra tune made a night and day difference over the stock tune.

did you have your ESS tune with the CEL delete only before updating it to the akra tune or didnt have any tune at all before buying the akra?

Stock tune, the first tune my car got was abuot 4 days after the Akra install and it was the full ESS arka tune.

yeah it was 1475 or something like that with the DF unit. Canadian dollar is little higher the US dollar right now.

I just got mine installed too. It's a very nice product. The colors on the pipe looks good and the weight of it is so light! I noticed the gain right away on lower RPM. As far as the sound goes, It's pretty aggressive. Got a nice tone. It's not too loud. It's just above the average. I am concerned, wouldn't I need something to let it breath easier? I haven't yet searched anywhere there is a claimed intake that works better than stock. hmmm

Just get a BMC drop in filter and you are good to go

I just got the akra upgrade to my ESS DF Tune, it really feels much smoother and no dip at any rpms, what a great exhaust system, just wish it wouldnt cost me $400 extra to upgrade it!
