ESS VT2-600 On and off Moaning noise plus steering wheel vibration

I have been experiencing this on and off moaning noise from my engine after installing a ess vt2-600 kit. The noise is only present when the rpms drop from 3-1k

This noise also produces a vibration on the steering wheel when the rpms go 1.5k to 0

Does anyone know what this can be?

Is this normal?

Having had my ESS 575 kit recently installed I'm getting acquainted with the new audio track of the engine. So far it's been a symphony of music under the hood! No idea of this moaning noise you explain. Perhaps the ECU needs to adapt more? An audio/video clip would greatly help.

Most likely what you hear is the bypass valve releasing pressure on decel. You can adjust the point of bypass engagement by following the instruction sheet that came with it. However a woosh sound it normal on decel. It is not loud, but it can be heard.

The noise was not there when I first got the kit. It started after about a month, and has been progressively getting worse.

You obviously aren't exploring the benefits of owning one, then.

I'd check under the car. Might have a pedestrian stuck under there.

Something like that, however I also feel a small vibration in the steering wheel right when then rpm goes to 1.5k to 0. This vibration is only there when the noise is.

If you hear and feel it then most likely something is rubbing. I would suggest having the installer look over the installation of the intake system, manifold etc.. and see if something is rubbing the chassis.

Most likely the SC intake air duct is not clocked correctly on the SC inlet flange. This will cause it to generate noise and vibration in the chassis when you decel. Just have the installer look it over and adjust the clocking of the intake duct and it should be OK.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Do you know about how much should it cost to repair?

To adjust this intake takes 2min. Simply loosen it from the SC inlet and clock slightly to provide proper clearance.
