Mine is a 2011 so the pricing obviously wouldn't be apples to apples.

Given what's out there currently in SoCal, option 1 seems real good. Before posters 'lol' or speak disparagingly about the deals you're considering, they should acquaint themselves with the car market in California where prices are higher than what you're going to see in Pennsylvania or Texas - particularly since convertibles are much more in demand here. That being said, you may want to consider NV or AZ where deals seem slightly better and are in reasonable driving range.

Addressing some other points made: I haven't seen too-many CPO cars without good or new tires on them, I would take a look at the service that's coming due and hasn't been done (I don't know if the 2008s have these indicators in the iDrive) - just to calculate what is coming due that will be done outside of the free-service window.

I don't know why people bring up the leasing option like they just discovered a secret trick to acquiring pricey cars for cheap. People know if their particular usage/financial profile makes them a good candidate for leasing. Conceptually, the option is also not attractive to many people. Lastly, I know that the 10k mileage caps that come on most expensive imports is a deal-breaker for many on a daily driver in California where we rack up considerable miles just day to day vs. the rest of the country.

Only option 2 is local. Option 1 and Option 3 are in the east coast and i will be getting it transported. Those are the cheapest m3 convertable that i could find and when people are telling me its still expensive i want to know hot to get it cheaper!

He never mentioned it, so that's why I mentioned it.

It's not always to get cars for cheap.
When the e93 first came out, the leases were crazy expensive. around $1400 a month

I got my 2011 e93 in the 800s, and that same one, 3 months before, would have cost me over 1200 easy.

Leases are a great way to get cars if the residual and MF work out

Price is actually $47,000 for that car.

I will be paying $1200 to transport it and $4700-5000 in taxes

Holy crap! In Texas the tax rate for a car purchase is 6.25% - is it really 10% (or more) where you are? Also, is there a way you can drive the car home from where you're buying it? Even if it's 3000 miles away you should be able to save a couple hundred bucks by getting a plane ticket and paying for gas and cheap hotels. Plus, it's way more fun.

Keep M3 and get a Z4 with the 30i engine. Should be able to get a good deal on one of those.

OR

Custom order an E93 and get it the way YOU want it.

$46,000 after tax!
What i like Every option. Like the color red/black PRICE and its a CPO!!

My Jerez has the Silver Novillo interior, and I like the look--understated. That said, there is a Melbourne Red / Bamboo E93 M3 in my neighborhood, and it is an eye pleaser.

I've said this before--and I seem to be in the minority--but I would not consider the Jerez with a Fox Red interior. Jerez Black is actually dark blue, and I don't like the look of red on blue, even if the red is orange-ish.

My vote is for #2, particularly if it's a 6MT.

Option 1

DCT is really awesome. We just took redelivery of our ED 2011 e93, AW/Red. Incredible car. I am totally amazed at how well balanced it is, given it is a convertible. Extremely pleased with the DCT. You won't miss the stick and wife will be very appreciative! Jerez black is a great color
