What is the most useless piece of technology

So I am curious what all your opinions are as useless technology in BMW's. When I first got my M3 I thought the seat belt extender was funny, though people who ride in my car think its way cool.

IDK if our M3's have it as an option or not but I think it's useless in all cars... The HEATED STEERING WHEEL. IMHO

Oh man. Couldn't disagree more.

My M3 does not have it, all my "X'ers" did....That's one damn option imo that is worth every damn penny

I'll be driving my kids 04 325xi this winter and won't have it...

i think that option is great, especially on cold winter days.

Does it not get cold in Philly?

speaking of useless, the new F10 M5 "Active Sound Design" has me disappointed and I think it's a useless option.

If Mercedes can build nice sounding turbo V8s without having the stereo system play it in the car cabin, why can't BMW?

+1, don't really use my rear sunshade that much.

AM Radio or WB Radio...c'mon really, I haven't seen anyone use that in their cars for years.

Push button start - just adds another step in starting the car; simpler to just insert and turn a key.

Agree, heated steering definitely not "useless" as its pretty handy(pun intended) on those cold Chicago days. Love it! Oh, and love the speedometer quote, have to agreelol:

Ok guys, I'm wrong. I will no longer argue this to the wife. She says thank you. Just think, she thought these networking forums were a complete waste of time. She said that while on Facebook.

Not if you have comfort access.

The most unused features on my car are auto high beams and the rear sunshade. But on those very rare occasions that I need them, I'm glad they are there.

i think the cup holder with the little interior plastic that is almost a smaller kind of cup holder is a little pointless... now you may not call this "technology" but when the wheel was first invented it was pretty advanced "technology" for its square time .

the one funny thing it allows is the 8.X ounce can of redbull to fit perfectly within the inner cup holder ring. wondering if they did this with purpose considering redbull is produced in austria lol...

either way... a little pointless.

M button, EDC, and POWER buttons. All they had to do was choose a setting and give it to us, there's not need to switch back and forth and all are good.

but even worse are headlight washers

They built that feature for me as I almost always have a can of red bull there.

I miss having a heated steering wheel

Top down, when it's a little chilly, it feels great

I would love it if the M3 had it
