I have an 11 ZCP and there is a huge difference over my 08 with EDC on the track.The 11 is much stiffer on track and is a lot more stable than my 08 ever was which I think I can judge after 13 track days so far this year.It is also a lot more neutral than the other car was which was prone to a lot of oversteer.I always run on a dry track with the shocks on the sport setting and the stability system off.I am running the same wheel & tire setup(275/35 18 on 10" square) as I ran on the 08.IMO the ZCP is well worth the extra cost.

The ZCP package is mostly a marketing strategy (maybe “competition” means Audi). If a buyer likes the wheels, and any other aspects of the package, then fine, it’s worth getting. I’m an experienced track driver, and my car (which is ZCP) handles very well. It is stock with the exception of StopTech brakes and 275/35-18 wheels/tires. It’s not a track car, but it does as well on track as any sports sedan in my experience, and much better than the E46 generation. Given the current auto market, and the additional manufacturer’s concerns of fuel efficiency, safety, and emissions, I don’t expect we will see a repeat of the E36 LTW. And that is what it would take to see the dramatic difference on track that some folks seem to expect.

However, the ZCP wheels themselves IMO are the most important part of the equation. They are lighter and stronger than the 19" pre-ZCP wheel. Also, they look so good that you don't need aftermarket wheels.

Additionally, if you look at the preowned E46 private party market and compare 06 ZCP vs. non there is a definite value added.

I personally think that M should have added some colors and made them ZCP specific like Interlagos was with the E46.

Actually, they're not. ZCP wheels a a little heavier.

I have a 2011 M3 ZCP. I wanted the lower ride + the larger wheels made it a bargain. I had a 2011 S4 it looked like a 4x4 compared to my M3. I keep reading post on how heavy the ZCP wheels are, dose anyone have the true weight difference from ZCP compared to the 19x8.5 & 19x9.5.

If you sell your ZCP wheels, wouldn't you have to buy new wheels to replace them???... I'm sure they will cost you more than the $500 that you made by selling your ZCP wheels!!!

but even if you spend $3000 on the wheels/tires of your choice
you still end up with the lowering springs, modified MDM etc for free

i ordered ZCP, it cost me $2500 (actually it cost me 2275, i paid invoice)
will sell my ZCP wheels for $3000
i'm buying Apex Arc 8 wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that are a little wider (255/35 18, and 275/35 18) plus TPMS for about $2600
so i made $400 and i got the lowered car, and the enhanced MDM
not a bad deal

For a moment I considered selling my 2009 coupe for the upgrade to a 2011 with ZCP. Seemed terrible to spend serious coin on a car to potentially have it outdone by a single packaged option. However, I must say that watching Clarkson's review and the Stig's lap time on Top Gear with the ZCP car eased my wanting. I'm still content with my factory non-ZCP 19"s and slightly higher ride height. However, I must say that damn M Performance Exhaust is weighing on my mind every day. Probably going to cave in the next couple months, and if I hear it in person it will likely be sooner.

To the OP: I knew the ZCP would not make my car faster or provide a big difference on the track, but I purchased it for these reasons: I liked the wheels, the fact that was lower (was not planning on getting springs later), and lastly, resale value.
Is it worthy? I think so! Bottom line: Get it if YOU want it, and don't pay attention to "hater" comments.

Some people are haters, others are sick of the ZCP=Supercharger BS posts from others.

I have a standard suspension E90 M3 including 18 inch wheels (though wider ARC8 18 x 9.5/10.5) and recently drove a ZCP E92 M3. To me, the ZCP car felt better in terms of handling. The suspension felt tighter (it was on the middle setting) and the steering felt a bit heavier and more reassuring. I preferred it. Maybe it was the lower profile tires and slight lowering.

Made me think about buying a set of H&R Sport springs for my E90. I would not go to 19 inch wheels, but I will go wider on the tires to 265/35/18 and 285/35/18.

There was no claimed increase in performance. JC even says there was absolutely no difference. His hangup was the price, which, is much cheaper than he quoted, in the states. Especially if you get the wholesale price...like many of us did.
So...it really boils down to whether you want the wheels and ride height. To me...at 65K+...$2275 was a drop in the bucket.

i can if it includes tires with less than 10 miles and TPMS
and the ZCP wheels usually sell quick since a lot of people keep them

Wow so much feedback... I took my 2011 m3 that's was non zcp and a 2010 with zcp out again yesterday to the track. I changed all the settings to sport on both cars.
Visuals- first I couldn't really notice the ride hight difference at all, and secondly the rims; IMHO the zcp rims looked more aggressive and like I said earlier the non zcp 19's looked more classic.
Performance- the zcp car did drive a little stiffer, handling wise I felt a little more response on the first lap I had done, but the car had already done 2 so that could have been the heat of the tires. Acceleration breaking exactly the same.
Overall opinion- if you like the wheels and like having dampening controls that don't do much for the car but do change the personality of it by a little then I say it's worth it. But if your like me and rather spend 2300 dollars and get a little performance upgrades rather then cosmetic then it's not. Now I know the zcp car is re-mapped but nothing I really noticed between the two. So there it is a first hand impressions of the comp pac vs non. Hope i didn't piss anyone off

The rims on the ZCP are the things that would make me get the package. Otherwise none of us would notice much of a difference on a track unless we're Michael Schumacher.

It has been reported by owners who switched from an 08 to an 11 that the steering feel has gotten a little heavier and tighter. I suspect BMW has made slight changes to the steering.
