What's the difference between the "old" one and the "new" one?

The old one, which is no longer available, does not have as many functions as the 'new' one. However, many people prefer the design of the new old as opposed to the new.

Advise against installing yourself and then programmed. I ran into an issue with a customer on an alarm where he installed it first, then to program we had to uninstall, program, and reinstall the alarm kit... not sure if that's going to be the same situation
