Yeah, I don't care if M4 makes the car sound like it's more "premium". The M3 name has built it's reputation and BMW is going to kill it just like that. Count me out. The next gen C63 now sounds even more enticing.

They are putting a freaking turbo engine in it.. who cares if they call it M3 or M4..

awesome... I'll have the last MY M3 coupe with a N/A engine. I don't think an M4 with a turbo engine is right for me. I honestly think the the M4 moniker for the coupe is going to mess up sales a bit

Glad a M3 will continue to be an option. Not sure about the M4 name. Sure it is just a name, but brand names are a big deal, even if it doesn't always make logical sense. I hope BMW knows what they are doing with this.

All Boys who cry about an M3 Sedan should not forget, that it is only history and "back to the roots" ... the first E30 M3 starts as an (2-door) sedan!

Only with the first attempt to split the 3er series with the E36 series, which were not be realized, the M3 Coupé was born.

I highly doubt that they will change the name of the M3 coupe. I have seen plenty of other articles that say the 4 series designation will be for the coupes HOWEVER... the M3 coupe will still retain the name M3. I really dont think BMW could afford to change the name of the M3 coupe as it is their flagship. I think they know that doing so would anger allot of enthusiast as well as put a blemish on the whole essence of the car. I know that sounds like BS but it is true. They can play with all the other car names (1M, X6M, ect..) but they can not mess with the M3 name.

I can just see it now:
M3 Driver: Hey I drive an M4
Random Joe: What is that?
M3 Driver:It is the new M3 coupe
Random Joe:Oh, well its still not an M3.
M3 Driver: (Smack, crash, bang) Say that again, I dare you!
