To those who say the 'vert is a pig, I say you likely did not even test drive it. Clearly "slower" than the coupe, but it's all relative in normal DD driving, no one can feel a difference in .1-.3 seconds...

To the OP, I say enjoy the car stock....messing with a tune, to eek out 8-10hp just sounds silly and a waste of money.
I agree with Cole328 on the unmatched experience that is to drive a vert M3, the coupe and sedan could be a little bit faster but they will never look as nice as the vert. But I do think that a tune makes this driving experience even better and it does make the car faster, as an example I just installed an ESS tune on my car and now it is pulling harder than a stock M3 sedan of a friend of mine who is supposed to be 400 lbs lighter than my vert so I do recommend to use a tune if you have the money to spend in this kind of mod

Anyone with the AA tune? Still trying to get feedback on it. Seems like everyone is doing the Evo or ESS tune now.

Getting a non-convertible would have given you more in all those categories than any "tune". Always vert guys asking these lame questions.

You are the guys that think you can have "everything". Adding 10hp on a vert that weighs 400 more pounds, what is the point? If performance was your priority than a vert would not be in your garage.

Just saying, I think its kind of a silly question
I wanna ask you a question... If you were in the market for a convertible wouldn't you want a fast one?

Just got the AA tune a couple of days ago... I mean what is it a claimed 15 hp.. It felt faster but that being said I was driving a much slower car the two days the car was out of commission... The throttle response is defiantly better though

Did you do the tune in conjunction with anything else?

I had already had Fabspeed cat back exhaust and a Dinan intake on before I got the tune.

Where does one get the ESS tune installed? Also, any concerns about warranty voiding? While I don't think the car really needs it, it sounds like you have positive things to say would love to get some more det's thanks

You can do it yourself and, yes, there is warranty risk if something goes wrong with the engine and BMW finds the tune. I don't know how significant the risk is (you can put the car back to stock before taking it in UNLESS something significant goes wrong and you aren't able to) but it is a risk.

Someone else said it best earlier in the thread. There are several options out there for the consumer and a few companies that can offer a 'quality' tune. We have a pretty wide range of dealers worldwide that can assist you and make this process easier for you. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Our dealer list can be viewed here http://activeautowerke.com/dealers.php
