Reliable iPhone 5 info for Verizon?

I am so tired of reading rumors online about iphone 5 for verizon, so I turn to my reliable source....e90post!

-Will iphone 5 come out to at&t and verizon at the same time?
-How much will it cost?

Thanks.

The iPhone 4S, as it is being referred to as, so far has been confirmed for Fall 2011. As far as i know, that's all the specifics about the release that has been confirmed.

A bit OT but I always upgrade after the hype dies down and the phones take a price cut. For instance, I just upgraded to a manufactured refurbished Iphone 4 for $99. These are basically 30 day return items so there was nothing wrong with it after inspection. However, since switching I have to say this phone is worse (reception wise) than my previous 3GS. I'm even considering sending it back unless there's some kind of fix? I have a case that I purchased which is en route which I hope that helps.

EDIT: The case helped quite a bit with the reception issues.

If you want to pay you can get any phone before they are released. I did this a couple years ago before ATT released another phone. You will have to pay big bucks and run the risk of it crashing since its not an officially launched phone.

My data phone crashed twice and I actually took it into ATT and they couldnt help me because at that time the phone I had was not out on the commercial market and they had no tech support set up yet.

Anyway I think the Iphone 5 64gb for ATT is already out via early release and its around $999 bucks if I recall. The Iphone 4GS is already available.

Just food for thought for people trying to stay ahead of the pack.

Typically the new phones are available 3-8 months before Verizon or ATT releases them.

Please don't message me for the website. Just do a google search and you will find it. I can say they are out of Los Angeles, California.

So is it gonna be the 4gs or is it gonna be the 5? I'm looking to upgrade in September so I would like for it to be the iphone 5.

Whatever moniker they go with, it will essentially be a refresh, NOT worthy of a new generational designation.

So, even if they do call it the iPhone5, it will still just be a rehash of the iPhone4 with some minor upgrades.

There will be no LTE support. However, I'd be surprised if they didn't have AT&T fake 4G (HSPA+) due to the relatively similar hardware demands of the HSPA+ radios in comparison to the previous ones.

Isn't LTE also fake 4G? There is no true 4G carrier in the US that meets the 4G used in other markets.. (Hence Long Term Evolution that it will eventually be at 4G speeds..)

ATT claims the iPhone 5 will be released in September. I dont see that happening at this point, maybe the 4GS, but like I said thats already available via OS.

The iPhone 5 is out to via OS, I just checked. They have 2 instock and they are like $1039 retail a phone... Way to much. I would offer them $800 a piece but just not worth it. I am sticking to my 4GS. lol

Have to wait for the next iPhone, and it sucks. My external speaker died last week on my ATT 3GS. So now I've got no audible notification of calls, texts, emails, reminders, sound for games etc. But with a new release around the corner, I don't want to pick up a new one right now.

By saying it's out via "OS", the only thing people are going to find if they search is nothing except results related to iOS 5, so I imagine nothing you're saying is true. You say you have a 4GS even though there are barely any rumors sticking with that name, and it doesn't even go with Apple's trend. Even if they go with 4G, which I hope they don't because it won't be real 4G, they would want to leave 4GS for an upgrade just like 3GS. They will either go with 4S for a speed upgrade, or less likely they will go with 5 even though there are no hints at a major hardware refresh at this point.

Are you asking just for the name or are you wondering if it's going to be a huge hardware jump? If it's not a full refresh, which doesn't seem likely, it will still be a big enough difference otherwise they wouldn't bother. The 3GS was an amazing jump over the 3G even though it wasn't a full revamp.

But if they do put the A5 processor in there, that would make it pretty worthwhile. Apple isn't going to release a new phone if they can only say "well it's 2% faster". It will need to have some kind of substantial improvement to set it apart from the current model.

Well, technically, even HSPA+ isn't "fake" 4G, although the backhaul simply isn't there to deliver what's promised with it.

LTE is 50lbs of shit in a 200lb bag.
HSPA+ is 50lbs of shit in a 20lb bag.

Yup, LTE-A is what we want.

Believe what you want. I won't loose sleep over it nor am I here to argue. Just giving my observation. Most people don't believe it and thats fine. I am not here to prove anything just saying if you want the latest you have to pay and thats with anything really.

I won't be checking this thread again.... Good luck in your search for the new iPhone.

I doubt it, or at least hope not. Its bad enough that the proposed release date is mid-October now. The latest rumors are that the new iPhone (whatever it will be called) will be announced in September for an October launch.

I've been eligible for an upgrade since the beginning of August and I can't wait to get rid of this damn Blackberry.

No. They've had this finalized for some time, and even in general they probably have a solid roadmap for a few years out. He's definitely not just walking away without leaving any vision or guidance. Regardless, Tim Cook will be a great replacement and Jony Ives is really the driving force behind their designs anyways.

In fact, I really don't expect to see a radical shift from the company any time in the near future. They became the most valuable company in the world this month, so the are doing something right. It's sad to see him go, but in a sense it brings closure. We knew it was inevitable, but what he did with the company was nothing short of amazing. It's as if he did what he knew he had to do to bring them to this level, hardened out his replacements and left at his glorious peak instead of staying for too long and holding them back.
