We have the right as former M friends to hear more about the car performance. Yes we can read about it in any magazine or online reviews but it would be much more interesting coming from a hard core M enthusiast like you. Give us your opinion on how GTR is different than M3 in:
-Low end torque
-high RPM response
-Fast cornering and handling
-Shifting speed, up and down
-Ease or complexity of changing driving modes
-overall quality of ride
-overall quality of interior materials
-sounds (engine, exhaust or rattles)
^^^ what he said!!

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the kind words! I finally got what I was trying to turn the M3 into - a GTish sports car instead of a sporty GT car. Hope that makes sense. This car makes mechanical noises (trans/diff), pins you in the seat with torque, relatively stiff but not punishing, and brakes for days.

The GT-R is a lot of fun on the track but somewhat idiot proof with AWD and stability control. It is stupid fast too so even not so great drivers can put down respectable lap times. Can't imagine what the car would be like with a tune, rcomps and track pads. Don't really feel the weight too much on the track though it is somewhat undertired in the front (like the e46m3 was) so it seems to understeer a little more than the e9x m3. Stellar track performer while be pretty civilized on the street.

Overall I highly recommend the '12 GT-R to anyone who is interested in more focused higher performing car for less than $100k.
