man... lots of pissed off people in the NR forums. I guess Nikon is rumored to be released a new mirrorless camera system next Wednesday, instead of updating their FX line.

interesting choice.....

we'll see how it pans out, but i expect higher frames per second as a result.

but the autofocus will be pretty useless, and the boost modes tend to be a bit on the useless side.

the quality at 100k ISO is pretty poor, Nikon handles it slightly better, but still, it's just too sensitive for them to handle.

print a picture from that at less then 3" and maybe it will be acceptable.

well... shooting at the Avengers set was a fail. It was hot as hell, we weren't allowed to get close, and the fog machine was running at full blast.

And also, now I kinda wish I kept that 100-400mm for (rare) times like these...

yeah, nice lense, but can be a burden

I tend to leave it sometimes thinking i won't use it, and sometimes i take it if i feel there might be a chance, but i'd rather not have it in my backpack all the time.

I have a feeling it's going to get a lot less use now that i have my new toy

I don't think that sounds like the noise I'm experiencing. Listen to my video as the focus goes back to infinity. It sounds like it's grinding or clicking. I've had a few Tokina lenses in the past (35/2.8, and 12-24/4) and they sounded nothing like this.

I'm sorry for not being clearer. Yes, I think you got hosed.
That vid, even though it isn't the same lens does not sound like yours. Although not as bad, you should hear my 300 F4. One heck of a racket comes out of it and supposedly it is normal.

Haha, much more clear. Previous owner states "I don't know, I don't remember if it did that, or not. But I don't think so." Sounds like BS to me.

Yeah, total BS. How can you NOT know what your lens sounds like if it sounds like that. Unless he didn't touch it in years. Try to get your money back or something.

My 35mm f2 (non-USM) is like that. People call it the beehive because of the buzzing. But it focuses fairly quickly. Is yours focusing accurately, at least?
