2011 no iDrive ? Need help from other owners

Guys, can someone without iDrive and a 2011 w/ EDC check to see if EDC and POWER settings stay memorized on your key? They used to on my '08 which didn't have a M button, but now on my '11 they don't stay memorized. I asked the dealership, but as usual they had no idea what it's supposed to do and started making up odd excuses. Thanks

is there a process for memorizing them (i.e. do you have to press a memory button with the settings on)? let me know and i'll try for you. i've noticed some persistance of the settings during short breaks from the car but otherwise not.

im pretty sure that if you set your settings while your key is in and then press your memory button on the side of your chair, your settings will set into your key.

not 100% sure but I think thats how it works,

Maybe, I had memory buttons on my '08 when power seats were standard. But now that BMW is screwing us a little more for their top of the line 3 series and charging extra for power seats I didn't get them..... so no memory button there. I wonder if that's the difference?

Garage List
2004 BMW M3  [4.50]
2011 BMW E90 M3  [5.00]
2013 BMW 328i  [5.00]
I'm so glad I didn't get power seats.

The car keeps my DCT settings. I haven't touched the power button yet except when I've pressed the M button. Personally, I find the Power setting way too sensitive.

did you try thee option to set it through the cluster ? im not sure you can, but i set my shift lights through it and it remained in the memory, so maybe you should try that.

If not, you have to be able to find it in the manual, I refuse to believe that you cant set something like this in the memory of your key.
