The E30 and E46 are better enthusiast cars.
The E92 is a better luxury car with more power. Plus the benefit of being newer and having a warranty.
No one is trying to stop or shame people who buy luxury sports GT's. Some of us however (apparently an insignificant number to satisfy the profit machine) want the option to buy a car that is more true to the spirit of previous M's, and it seems like BMW is loosing sight of this.
The designation of best "M car" is rather irrelevant really. BMW could make a mini-van or a truck (too late) with an M badge and it is an M car because they say it is.
I hope BMW has something tasty up its sleeve for the enthusiasts. Otherwise not only is the competition catching up... but is steadily moving by.
