Thank you for all the information Chris. i just installed the AP Stillen kit on my E92. What is the minimum service width for the front and rear rotors? What is the maximum pad thickness that the calipers can accomadate with new rotors?

You might want to send a PM to Chris Bernal (member Chris__B with a double underscore, formerly of Stillen Brake Pros) and ask him that question. PAGID RACING lists the same pad for the ST60 and the CP5555 (the CP5555 uses the AP CP3894 pad outline). It's possible the difference is minor, like one has a cutout for a pad sensor and the other does not.
It's too bad RS29's have become hard to get. I bought a two-axle set of RS29's from stock at TRG back just after I got my AP BBK in 2009. Stock was no problem back then. I was happy enough with the Mintex pads, so I sold that set still new and unused to another forum member last year when I sold off my M3 upgrades. |

AP recommended that set up to us on the this thread. So much of our breaking comes from the front end anyways.

Chris from AP was the one that suggested it, and a few members have used the set up. Hopefully one of them will chime in.
I ordered the F3Rs, will be here next week. I will be going to Mosport in a few weeks, and I will be running the F3Rs up front and the Mintex Extreme pads in the rear.

I have been using the F3R and Mintex Xtreme on the rears with no issues. Pad wear on the rear is still fairly minimal and balance is very good. I used this setup based on Stillen's recommendation and am very happy with it. The plus is only changing the front pads for track days. |

I am on my second set of F3Rs (use Mintex xtreme in back). No complaints other than I ran though the first set in 5-6 events. I get uneven pad wear so now will be able to mix and match which should help.

I will check my tool bag tomorrow - cant remember - 7mm maybe, since I use it all the time I have it set aside and never look at the size. The rears are just friction pins. |

They don't need to be unscrewed. Basically you can just use a punch or similar tool to tap them out and pull the pins out from the back of the caliper. To replace you just push the pins through the back and tap them back into place. Fairly simple and doesn't take too much time.

Just saw this and reminded me to check. Its 6mm. Yes you need to bed the pads. I have driven on them to and from the track as well as for a few days when I know I have another track day. They do start to get a little noisy once they clean up the rotors after a track day. I just drove to Watkins Glen for an event to and from with the F3R pads on the front.
