ATTENTION Ron Paul Supporters

NOW is the time to show your support. I absolutely abhor stickers on cars, but I put a bumper sticker on my 335i (center rear windshield as low as possible - actually looks quite clean). Time to get the message out that HE IS ELECTABLE. The vast majority of people I talked to last election cycle said they weren't considering voting for him because the media had painted him as unelectable, but that they liked his ideas the most. So, let's help overcome the "unelectable" label the machine has placed on him through media propaganda by showing that he does have support among the successful (see: intelligent, thoughtful) populace. Maybe just maybe people will start thinking for themselves and refuse the spood feeding from the media they've gotten so comfortable with.

Yea, he does have a considerable amount of support and seeing how poor Obama's doing in polls Paul might beat him. I'd put my money on Rick Perry if he runs though. If he can do half of what he's done in Texas to the entire USA we'd be in great shape.

The problem isn't winning the general election - Paul would destroy Obama in the debates. The problem is winning the primaries as the big-gov't Republicrats pretend he doesn't exist and, frankly, don't want him ruining their big-gov't free-punch party.

As for Rick Perry, I do think he could pull a lot of political weight. I'm just not sure the American public is ready to go for another Governor from Texas...

Sorry, but Rick Perry doesn't even seem like the kind of guy I would want as my mayor. I think Ron Paul is one of the better Republicans I've seen so far. He seems to be one of the few guys out there that believes in common sense. I really can't say who I'm going to vote for, but if it isn't Paul, it sure as hell won't go to the GOP.

But what do I know

Ron Paul won every debate(last time around) according to online polls but the news never reported that...in the usual polls as reported by big media, he didnt win...hmmm...they marginalize him cause they fear him...if he was a little younger and more charismatic, I do think he could win.

Ron Paul is a libertarian swimming in the republicans bath water.

If he wants a real shot or any shot for that matter, he needs to run as an independent a la Ross Perot.

And as much as I respect Ron, he's not crushing Obama in a debate. No one in the field is as smart as those two. Neither of them would be crushing each other, but one thing I would expect is an actual real debate on real issues and not bs topics that no one gives a shit about...ie gay marriage.

Be careful with bumper stickers.

he MIAC report specifically describes supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as “militia” influenced terrorists and instructs the Missouri police to be on the lookout for supporters displaying bumper stickers and other paraphernalia associated with the Constitutional, Campaign for Liberty, and Libertarian parties.

Considering I don't live in Missouri, know the law quite well, drive a BMW, am well spoken and groomed and don't violate the law, I doubt I'll have much of an issue with the police.

Funny you say that, because they always search my bag when I fly. They never take anything out or ask questions though, just open, glance, close.

All the other GOP candidates are VERY uninspiring. I think they should take the risk and nominate Paul. With the strength of the Tea Party movement, and his ability to attract people on both sides of the isle with his common sense, I think he's their best shot.

No way in hell would I vote for Rick Perry. I really want a leader focused on action- not getting a large group of people together to try to solve their problems with magic, as Perry will do tomorrow.

If the GOP would drop their draconian social agendas they'd have a LOT more support.

He will *NEVER* get nomination from GOP. And he is as much of a Jesus freak as the rest of them. Ron Paul sounds smart, yes, but he will have to fight the same amount of bullshit in house and congress, as Obama is fighting right now. GOP would nominate Bachman before him, because she levels with the majority of their ignorant voter base.

Two party system is a complete failure, but for the most people it is 18 months of entertainment and not as much as desire for your candidate to win, but desire for the other candidate to fail.

Agreed on all counts. However, it is important to point out that while he may be a "Jesus freak" (which, being a Christian doesn't make one a "Jesus freak"), he has a spotless record of NOT imposing his religious beliefs on anyone in the form of any bills, orders, etc. He sends basically all matters of religion and social values back to the states where it belongs. People in AK, CA, ME, FL, ND, TX, etc don't hold the same social values and they should be allowed to decide for themselves what the laws are. We're too diverse a nation for a one-size-fits-all social policy. Good ole "if you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing noone."

+1. I disagree with Ron Paul's religious views, but unlike Perry, Palin, or Bachman they don't bother me since he never makes political issues out of them. Ron Paul supports seperation of church and state, and he campaigns on actual important issues rather than drumming up the support of "social conservatives" and making a big show out of his religion.

Paul makes a very strong intellectual argument that resonates. Unfortunately it's not a realistic or possible vision that he has. Too bad because he's a man of conviction with a mastery of his subject.

And Obama's is? Bush's is? Why isn't Paul's? Because it would change too many broken policies? What's wrong with that?

Look realistically at your fellow Americans. Honestly, how many could be successful in a true libertarian environment? Hell, most have a hard enough time living in our nanny state, how would they do if they actually had to act as fully franchised citizens? The ones who could are vastly outnumbered by the ones who can't.

But over the long run won't forcing people to fend for themselves be a good thing? Won't it incentivize them? If no animal never ate another animal they would never evolve. Isn't it better for the country - as a whole - to have some level of social Darwinism relative to fiscal success? When there is a safety net high enough to provide you with a tv, car, home, cell phone, medical coverage, etc, why would someone born into a difficult situation strive for more?

If we continue taking care of those who perpetually make poor decisions (refuse to get educated, contribute to society, mooch of the proverbial governmental teet, etc), this is what we'll end up with:
