650 Miles Oil Level Too High
I have been breaking car in the right way checked oil at about 600 miles after an 80 mile drive and it was towards the bottom of the two lines, I know a quart every 1000 miles is not unusual so added 1/2 quart, then checked reading and it was 1/4 inch below top line, today I rechecked it and it was saying too much oil and it was yellow. Any reasons to why and what should I do, car runs fine except for long cranks when sitting and cold. Drove 70 miles today in heat level back to normal must have been slightly over, warning light was never on only I drive said it, will wait to see light next time before adding good to know my car is burning no oil. Picking up 1m next week.

You are not supposed to add oil until it is a full quart low. Says so in the manual IIRC. The computer will tell you when to add oil. If it is slightly over, it is likely not an issue. If it is drastically over, then you should drain some. the engine has a huge oil capacity, so running a quart low is not an issue.

OMG... why did you put 1/2 a qt. its not even asking to add a qt. our cars are equipped with gremlins so when it needs or have a problem which is not really a problem just a warning then thats when we make a move.

its worse to have too much oil than to have to little oil. u should drain the front sump as ttt mentioned. the front sump doesnt have too much oil in it and will drain quickly. then just refill the oil to the correct levels.
next time dont add oil until your car gives you a warning and tells you to do so.
