Power Steering

First two laps ever around the ring in my 08 e92 and my power steering pump is toast. I have not been to the dealer yet as it happened today, but everything is running fine except for it being extremely hard to turn the wheel. It happened about 3/4 through my second lap...no codes, just all of a sudden the steering got VERY stiff.

Anyone else heard of this happening?

Well thankfully I found the problem. Luckily it wasn't the actual power steering pump!! Turns out I shredded my a/c drive belt that just so happens also turns the power steering pump.

Just ordered a new belt from AA since I have the power pulley from them. Dealer quoted me 200 euro for labor...I pulled everything apart in 25 min and just need the new belt to finish up the job.

nice at least it was an easy fix. i wish the steering was a little less assisted especially at low speed feels too much like a regular car.
