Chrome to Gloss Black Powdercoat

Before the flames... the car came with chrome rims down in LA from the dealership. Yah I know real men don't drive convertibles or have chrome... so added black rims to "man up".

The blacks are 18's and the chromes are 19's. Think it's worth powder coating the 19's or just selling them? The ride is definitely smoother on the 18's!

Ps. Powdercoat was done by CalChrome down in LA. They do a base coat in matte or gloss, then do a second coat in clear. Also, they only bake at 350 degrees, as not to make the aluminum brittle. Great price, and they shipped right up to Portland nice and easy.

Don't listen to him! The chrome goes with the window trim, the kidney grills, and the side markers. So unless you plan on blacking out all of them, I'd keep the chromes. Keep the 18's for track days.

No, the dealership in LA chromed the OEM 19's. I purchased an additional set of 18's and had them powdercoated gloss black.

Just trying to figure out if I should powdercoat the 19's now or just sell them. They do match a lot of the chrome on the rest of the car. Convertibles come with that chrome trim around the windows vs the black for sedan and coupes.
