My driver's side mirror housing creak like hell when I open or close the door

Any one else's car does the same too? It's driving me nuts

Yes, on the passenger side. Cheap ass plastic, poorly fit.

Yup. Mine does on the driver's side. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Seems like its all sedans...I asked my SA about it too and she said that since its a different design, the whole thing needs to be replaced and there is no adjustment possible like a normal mirror I guess.

So are you saying that you had it "fixed" by replacing the whole mirror?

The mirror HOUSING? I don't hear any noise at all from mine...why would the housing make noise? I don't get it. Please explain.

edit: Is it the folding mirror option?

This is the exterior plastic that hold the mirror (the painted and black portion of the mirror). These do fold electronically and make noise when they are folded in and you close the door. is this not a standard option on the M3s?

No it is not.

I do not have power folding mirrors. I wish I ordered them. After reading this, maybe it was a good call not to order them!

If you don't have the power folding option and your mirrors are quiet, thank your lucky stars. The noise if irritating to say the least!

That pretty much sucks. I hate to be a whinner but this is more than slight noise. It is a creaking every time the door moves.

Is that where the rattling is coming from at speed (I have it both sides near a pillar)?

I am very close to purchasing a new e90 and this worries me!
You say it only comes with the folding mirrors? Are the folding mirrors part of a package?
Has anybody actually fixed this issue?
