Is it just me or are there a lot of 2011 M3s on the market. Anyone have any input on such a short lived ownership of the M3? Whatever happened to the whole... "I'm gonna own this car forever " talk.

Could it be the "oh crap, what have I done..." factor from impulse buyers realizing the true costs of ownership?

could be they ordered DCT, EDC, NAV, sunroof, leather, and all the other expensive options like every other owner and realized they should have gotten 6mt, no edc, no nav, sunroof delete, cloth, and bought a nice set of coilovers and some track time instead

Yep, pretty sure that's it. Mystery solved. Thanks Sherlock Mozgov.

I still have mine! But I've been thinking of dumping it for a 2010 so I can have Bluetooth audio... or I may just bite the bullet and get the Combox.

I thought bluetooth audio is 2011.5 and later.

I have 33k miles on my 2011.5 and still love every moment driving this car. But it is possible that the mods and track time keep our relationship going strong.

Thank you. If you had any sense of understanding I was indicating that IF one purchased their car like I described, they wouldn't be flipping ships because they would be having too much fun driving it like it was meant to be. But you can keep rolling around with your top down, more power to you

Just look at the Post above mine. He knows what's up.

My car is fully loaded (though manual cloth seats are much more appealing after sliding around my seats at the track), but I compensated for the extra weight by going E92 with 6MT and CF roof instead of a DCT sedan.

Pretty sure it's just 335i owners upgrading to M3's and then being severely disappointed in how slow the car is while shifting at 5k rpms.

lol a stock M3 is still rather slow even at 8k RPM if you're coming from a proper 335i.

What true costs are more with this car that you won't find in other similar cars? (AMG, Ss, etc).

I think the m3 is one of the cheapest cars to own for the average driver in comparison to some counterparts.

Can't be cost of ownership as 11' still under factory warranty and insurance isn't to bad.

I suspect it is either 2 year leases ending, or people who flip to the next thing rather quickly (guilty at times, but on used cars)

Well stop wearing leather pants to the track man!

Seriously I don't slide around in my car at all. I have not been to the track but I have hit some pretty hard corners. Maybe it helps that i'm wedged in the car to begin with
