Service due already?

The "service due" notification came on for engine oil. I only have about 600 miles on the car. Is this normal? The oil level is a bit under the max. When I got the car, the salesman gave me a quart of oil and said that I needed to add it in when I was notified. But is it supposed to be this early?

The service guy at the dealership said they must have programmed my car wrong when it was prepped, that it needed to be reset. I'll be taking it in for them to check it out.

Do you guys know what's going on?

It comes on early to allow you to ensure you have sufficient time to plan for/book the car in for the 1200 mile service - perfectly normal. Do not add any oil to the engine unless the car tells you to!

Normal. Just wait for the 1,200-mile mark, turn it in for service, and see your whole life change when you get it back.

Mine did the same at around 600 miles. Just ignore it until 1200.

Shouldn't you take it easy until 3100 miles too though?
