Just tried out some new leather cleaner/conditioner.
Got it here
http://www.spinneybeck.com/shop/prod...ProductID=1798 based on an E46 owner's recommendation. It's good stuff. There's no strong smell, no film or residue left behind, and no shiny finish. The leather looks matte just like it was before I applied it. It was just what I was looking for. Something that could protect without too much smell and without the shiny finish. This might not be a good solution for people with light color interiors though because the cleaning power is pretty mild. If you need deep cleaning ability for heavily soiled leather, I'd probably look at Leathermasters instead.

Heard good things about it as well, although I remember some E46 owners had an issue with it fading/discoloring the leather on the center armrest. Seemed to be limited to a few people, though.

Doesn't sound like a product related issue if its only the armrest. Maybe its a build up of body oils that were never cleaned off or something.

I think in the E46 it was a different leather to what covered the seats (only judging by feel and look not certain that it was the case.)

E46 M3 had "Nappa" leather. The E9x M3 has "Novillo" leather (whatever that is; I think it's a type of Spanish calf leather ). I've heard good things about Spinneybeck but never tried it. I use Leatherique and can recommend it, even on light color leather. I've used it on black, beige and the E46 M3 Nappa cinnamon leather.

Same here. I had it on my E46 vert and nothing looked better. Been thinking about seeing how much it would cost to order the bulk leather and cover the front and rear seats. Prolly a fortune but it would be great!
