Bye Bye M3....Hello M6!
Well...my car has been officially gone for a week now. I am awaiting the arrival of my 2008 M6 Coupe. I am importing the car from Florida as it was impossible to find a 2008 M6 coupe here in Canada. I didn't save much money by the time it will all be said and done, but I got the car and the options I wanted.
I actually was lucky enough to see the car in person last week because I had a trip planned to Florida for my Birthday, and the M6 happened to be only an hour away. So I rented a car and went to check out the beast before the transport truck picked it up. The car is MINT, the previous owner took such good care of it, I can't even believe it. He went as far as always sitting on towels in the driver and passenger seat, he also had a towel over the armrest so it doesn't get dirty and/or scuffed up (see pics below). The plastic wrap is still on all the carpets except for the driver's one. The car has 14 000 miles, it has every option you can have in an M6 including soft close doors, full leather and suede roofliner. It has a few mods I would have done myself, so that worked out great too. It has CF Kidney Grilles and CF Side Gilles. Im not a fan of the CF stickers over all the blue in the BMW logo, so those will be removed ASAP. Mods planned for this car: -Eisenmann Race Exhaust (Ordered, will be here next week) -RD Sport Springs (Ordered, will be here next week) -21" 360 Forged Spec 5ive (sitting at my tire shop, waiting to be mounted on the car) -Evosport Pulleys -RPI Ram Air Kit -CF Lower Mirror Covers -09 iDrive Controller -LED License Plates -LED Interior Lights -5% Tints, 50% windshield I should have the car today or tomorrow, and I am planning a road trip to IND to install exhaust, pulleys, RPI and the 09 iDrive Controller. Springs are being installed next week locally. Here are a few pics I took last week in Florida.

Congrats on the new car, she looks like a beauty!
When were you planning on heading down to IND? I was planning a road trip down to Chicago for the end of August so I can pick up my wheels, and hopefully a few other mods. |

Thanks man!
It really is mint, and I needed that because I don't usually buy used cars because I don't think people take care of their cars enough. But this car was beyond taken care of. My Eisenmann should be shipped out of Germany today, for delivery by Wednesday of next week to IND. So I plan to go on Friday, spend all day Saturday there , installing everything and Sunday, I will be shopping with my GF.

Wow, beautiful color combo. The carbon fiber trim on the M6 is sooo nice. Also you are going to love the E-Race exhaust on that V10. Had it on my M5. My neighbors however did not enjoy the sound of it as much as I did. Weird right?

The M3 is a better looking car in most aspects...but I wanted more power (which the M3 didn't have for me, unless I went with a supercharger or stroker), I also wanted more of the luxuries like full leather dash and doors and suede roof...etc. The rear of the 6 series is damn sexy IMO. The front could be more aggresive.

Congrats on the purchase! I just picked up my 06 M5 recently and I'm still waiting to get my E-race exhaust too. That car looks mint and I love the color combo!

wow, congrats.
I always thought to myself, if I won't get an M3, it would be an E60 M5 with some bad ass exhaust that prowls like a lion. VRROOOM VRROOOM. |

I owned an m6 prior to this M3..
I can assure you that you will miss your DCT and the speed the car shifts.. also you will actually miss being able to put human beings in the back seats.. the M6, for such a big car has a significantly smaller back seat. You will also miss being able to actually put a cup in your cup holder - the M6's cup holder is one of the most stupid and impractical design i've ever seen, you actually have to stick it in to the center column. Other than that, you will enjoy the sound, the power and the luxury factor (it's still an M6 no matter what). |

The cup holder is stupid, but hardly a reason not to get a car. I rarely use a cupholder. And when I do, it will hold my water bottle just fine I'm sure. The sound, power and luxury factor is what I was after. I think I will be very happy with it. I will the M3 for certain advantages that it has, but my E93 never satisfied my need for power.
