UCP installed
Ultimate Clutch Pedal installed. The feel is solid! It's crafted much like the Mason pedal, except it has adjustable over-center spring locations for feel. I opted for the middle location for a month to see. Some people remove the spring, meh, your body grows into just about any type of movement so I opted not to remove it. You can see from the middle picture the comical instructions and a look at BMW's worn nylon "cracked" bushings. The final picture shows the height difference. Enjoy! The first pic is the over-center spring in the middle location. The 2nd pic is the old pedal, with the worn, "cracked" nylon bushings. The 3rd pic is the height difference.
Tip: I applied krytox to all the new bushing hardware, even though it's self-lubricating, it made it easier to slip onto the pedal shaft and assemble the over-center spring. As an added bonus, the bluetooth antenna was loose and was the cause of a rattle ... felted and fixed!

The stock pedal has some inherent slop, maybe due to so much plastic utilized. The pedal itself is plastic, the bushings are plastic and the shoulder pin for the slave is plastic. The UCP uses an aluminum pedal and brass bushins, there is so side deflection at all, the pedal sits lower than the brake pedal and the over center spring is adjustable for feel. If you had the mason pedal in the e46, the feel is similar. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I never understood why they used plastic when there is a direct feel aspect to this pedal (unlike the gas pedal). I just want to see if the change in feel is significant.

I don't understand it either. The pedal has a direct feel, shorter travel, it moves straight and direct to their provided double felt clutch stop. There is absolutely no play in the pedal. The adjustable over center spring is something many of the guys would like, especially those who opted to remove it altogether. The best feature is the shorter travel and lower pedal.

I love mine, absolutely brutal pedal--I can get in a front-end collision and this pedal will walk away on its own prerogative.
