My Ex, My New Girl And My Side Piece
I finally picked up my new 2011.5 M3 coupe on Friday and parted ways with my 2008 335i coupe. The side piece refers to my 2008 CBR 1000rr Limited Edition (1 of the 500 supposedly).
Here are the specs: 2008 335i Coupe 6MT Alpine White/Coral Red/Grey Poplar Premium Package Sport Package w/ 230 Style 19" Wheels Logic 7/Navigation/Ipod USB Heated Seats Mods: M-Tech front & rear bumpers BMW Performance Exhaust BMW Aluminum Pedals Miro M6 Reps/Toyo Proxes 4 (selling soon) 2011.5 M3 Coupe 6MT Jet Black/Silver Novillo/Carbon Leather Trim Premium 2 Package Navigation/Enhanced Premium Sound/Ipod USB Heated Seats 19" 220M Wheels/ Electronic Damper Control -Installed Mods: GP Thunder 8500's Leather Z Alcantara M Stitched Shift Boot Custom Modified/Fabricated Shift Knob Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (Just for the winter) -Sitting in my closet until it stops freaking snowing: BMW Carbon Fiber Splitters BMW Gloss Black Grills & Gills Aluminum Pedals -On Order: Morr VS8.2 19" Wheels (still torn between sparkling silver and signature Black) 2008 Honda CBR 1000rr Limited Edition Black/Grey Metallic Mods: Yoshimura Carbon Fiber Exhaust System Bazzaz Z-Fuel injection Controller Powder Coated Tripple Tree Lightech Tripple Tree Nut, Reservoir Cover & Bar Ends D-3 Grips, ASV Levers Hot Bodies Undertail And too much carbon fiber trinkets to list A few quick comments about the new M 1) I'm obsessed with this car 2) For the few people on this forum that said the enhance premium sound and the logic 7 in the 335 sound pretty much the same....Please have your hearing checked. The EPS might not compete with some decent aftermarket systems but it blows away the crap in my 335. 3) This forum is an amazing source of information and photo's but most of the pictures do not come close to what the colors especially the leathers look like in person so I strongly suggest going to look at cars or at least samples in person. The red and the silver look light and bright in pictures but are much darker and richer in person. I was torn between Jerez and jet black and when I picked up my car I was glad I chose jet black especially when I compared it too the Jerez convertible sitting next to mine. Don't get me wrong, the jerez is beautiful and will pop more in direct sunlight but on a cloudy day, it looked a bit dull from the metallic and mine looked like it was dripping wet. 4) I will miss the run flat tires on my 335 like a rash. I hope I never see them again compared to normal rubber and the amazing suspension on the M. 5) I'm obsessed with this car 6) Enjoy the pics |

The Morr wheels will look great on the car... I have a set on order myself... I would definitely do signature black on this car!
Looks great!

The shift knob is from a VW R-Line. I removed the boot and console frame and then carefully core drilled the center until it was just big enough to fit in the insert from a BMW m-sport shift knob I had from my 335. It took hours to slowly strip away the plastic around the insert with a dremel, it was definitely not meant to ever come apart. Put it this way, i wouldn't do it all over again If I had to but it did come out better than I expected.
