One cut-out actuator failed this weekend at the track. It was 105 degrees, and I was running about 5mpg (hot exhaust), it probably cooked. Glad they have a lifetime warranty

I was talking to a corvette tuner while hanging out between sessions, and he said it's common for the actuators to die prematurely when placed too far upstream (heat).
