As a result, my car quickly jumped to 7000 rpm and it completely scared me. I then quickly shifted back up to 7th gear and just drove home normally. My question here is, did I cause any permanent damage to my transmission? Should I be paranoid about anything? I never push my car, I usually drive it grandma-ish, but I wanted to have a little bit of fun and that completely failed.
