I friend who did his Marketing M.B.A. at Eli at MSU told me Harvard Business School did a whole thing on how it was based on the propeller. Don't believe everything Harvard U. tries to tell you!!!

Knew it was the flag since day one when I learned about 19th century German unification in 10th grade history class and saw all the pictures of the German state flags...
