The "experimental" version of PerfDB/vBoxTools has this capability to flatten the road and remove slope from the calculations. Anybody interested can try it at
www.perfdb.org and select "advanced options" and check the two boxes at "Correct the distance based on slope rise and fall" and "Correct the timestamps based on slope rise and fall."
