You are correct, the pairing is important. OEM will have a tendency to be raspy when removing cats, especially with 2 resonators.
I am now running Gintani quad resonated catless with valved race with zero rasp. I also have Gintani valved sport and didn't get any rasp either. I like the sound of the megan I'm sure you'll like it. If it's still raspy I'd add a couple resonators up top
