I might have to try the power button next time. Now that I think about it I haven't had many moments that felt like I was getting into the throttle too early.
I'm using the Chasecam 3-cup suction mount. It seems to hold pretty well, the camera is a fairly light old Canon digital Elph SD1100S (I think) which won't make me sad if it falls off or gets hit with a rock
