You are forgetting one thing.....the hassle factor. Even you have a legal right to something, there is the hassle of it all. If your dealership refuses to have a particular repair covered under warranty, do you really want to go through the lengthy and expensive legal battle all while your car sits broken.

If you want to mod, you have to either not care about your warranty or have a good working relationship with your dealer. I have often paid my dealerships in cash (then a little on the side to the mechanics themselves), to actually install some of my big level mods on past cars. I have never been denied any warranty claim ever.
