I've read up on a few websites, and they specifically class a Dual Clutch transmission as a Manual with automatic capabilities though, that's why.
Also, I know it's a cost option on the vehicle at manufacture, but 'Transmission Changes' is usually an item where this can be identified as a 'Modification' to the standard vehicle with an insurer. By doing that, it doesn't add much to the premium.
I must have done the comparison websites 100 times now and every time I get a different answer.
I wonder what BMW's take on it is? Manual or Automatic? Obviously I don't want to have any problems if the worst comes to the worse!
