I love how people talk about 3rd gear to be "well in excess of any U.S. speed limit" or it will get you a "nice sized speeding ticket". The fact is that in the wrong state on the wrong road; 3rd gear can get you arrested!
Luckily I have never been caught while in the business part of 3rd gear, especially since I never worried about this when I was 16-18 in my first car where 3rd gear took me up to 120mph.
