I think playoffs would make for a much more interesting results in the end. You could end up with a team from a no name conference play someone from the Big 12 if the playoffs are set up properly. Something similar to NCAA basketball.
As they were talking about this a few weeks ago on the local sports talk show, it's all about cash and greed. That's why playoffs won't happen.
