Keep in mind that the BMW rack is very limited in the number components that attach to the rack to hold different kind of loads. I got a BMW rack for our X3 and then found out that there are no tie down staps or load stops available. I would think you could get Thule bars that use the OEM attach point and then you would have lots of components to choose from.
