My e46 rubbed 285/30-18 PSCs on both the inner and outer sides of the rear wheel wells. When you get the suspension and tires working well together, the forces during cornering will cause the suspension bushings to yield substantially.
In the case of the e46, the inner bushings on the upper control arm allowed the tire to "decamber" (camber went less negative) during hard cornering, causing rubbing on the fender lip. Full compression caused rubbing on the id of the fender. I would not expect the e9x suspension bushings to be any less compliant.

The larger you go is not allways the proper thing to do.If you do not have the proper dynamic camber you could end up with less grip & wear the tires a lot more than going with a narrower setup that is more tolerant to less than perfect camber.I have experienced this with my C5 Zo6 trying to run 295-315 Hoosiers and discovering that a 275-305 setup was quicker.
