If the car's in 1st gear and he didn't know about it, he would've assumed it's in neutral, so the car should've stalled on him as soon as he started it. Well, even less powerful (like 330i) car is capable of rolling without right foot on the gas once you turn the key
My friend did the same thing, thank god he wasnt anywhere near objects or walls. So no accident
