If you want the most performance for the money, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric is a very good deal in the stock 18" sizes right now. Those equal or exceed the PS2 in grip, though not quite as nice a "feel" as the PS2.

The Yokohama Advan Sport has a very nice feel and ride, but not as much grip as the PS2.

The Bridgestones are a very good competitor as well, but the RE050A Pole Position does not come in the stock 18" sizes.
