My advice is always to attend the various houses rush events and meet the guys. Whom ever you feel most comfortable with should be your choice, regardless of the national size or preconceptions. These gentlemen will be your brothers for the duration of your college experience, so make sure you actually like to hang out with them haha.
Most social fraternities will allow you to join academic/ career oriented fraternities as well, so long as they aren't "secret societies".
