Cops tend to hide usually around the curve, at the bottom of the hill, under an overpass columns, entrance ramps etc.
Also I try to find someone who's haulin ass and stay 3 car lengths behind him.

It's up to the individual, but many troopers don't bother with 9 mph over, and 9 is usually a break point (less fine than 10)....
