Basically, you're going through exactly what I had to go through.
Some idiot tighten too much > Broke key > order new key > broke again > Drill out.
Luckily, it was all dealership's fault so I didn't have to pay for anything and they provided a loaner. But it was def. hassle.
McGard keys are not strong but can't say it's their fault. I would say whoever put/tighten your wheels with air gun last time has to get all the blames.
Just drill out your lock then get a set of BMW ones (I got their high security ones and key construction seems a lot stronger than McGard).
