You all are right about "most" salespeople. Most guys can get by just knowing the basics of the cars and being able to tell differences between models. Even at our dealer, there's some guys like that. Should they know more? Yes. Do they need to? No.

You also have to remember that all of you guys on here study this car in and out every day and know every little detail about it. Throw about 15 more cars into that equation and it gets a little harder to remember every detail.
I consider myself to know as much as any of you do, but I still make mistakes sometimes. I might be talking about an M6, then an X5, then an M3. With all the numbers and specs, I make a mistake every once in awhile.

But don't get me wrong. I agree with you guys. 99% of other BMW salespeople I have met don't know their head from their ass. You just have to find the right one. I love the fact that most car salespeople are idiots. It gives me a great advantage when people know that I actually have product knowledge.
